Grade 8 Parade Sculptures

8th graders created parade floats with cardboard and recycled materials.  They had such creative ideas!

Grade 5 Watercolors

These watercolor paintings were created by 5th graders.  They each chose a place that they wanted to portray.  Compositions were drawn, lines were inked and then they painted them in with watercolors.

Color Mixing Warm-ups

Reductive Linoleum Carving

These 4 color prints are examples of the reductive linoleum carving process.  My 6th graders love this project.

Monoprint

This is a monoprint created by a 6th grader.  He painted the original image on a piece of plexiglass and printed it onto construction paper.  After the paint had dried, he worked back into the image with oil pastel.  It is one of my favorite pieces that a student has monoprinted.

Sand Mandalas

These are a few examples of the 6th grade sand mandalas that we did last spring.  The students watched videos of Tibetan sand painting and carefully planned out their designs.  They worked so hard on them and it took quite a while, but everyone loved working with the sand... it was a new media for them.

Computer Compilations

These photos were taken by the student artists and then rendered creatively in Adobe Photoshop.

Computer Landscapes

These surreal compositions were created with Photoshop software.  I love the blend of all of the elements, these students did a fantastic job.

Computer Paintings

These 4 digital paintings were created in an introduction Adobe Photoshop class by 8th grade students.  All of our 8th graders are introduced to Photoshop and are able to use the software very creatively.
